Description:
The Rabbit Snail (Tylomelania sp.) is notable for its unique appearance, resembling a bunny with an elongated head, drooping yellow antennae that look like ears, and a distinctively curved mouth. Observing their movement reveals a deliberate, loping gait as they use their strong foot to navigate the substrate, carrying their spiraled shell with a graceful arch. These snails are effective cleaners, efficiently consuming leftover food and detritus, while also grazing on algae and plant material. Occasionally, they may nibble on aquarium plants such as Java Ferns.
